Can pets predict bad weather?

Why does it seem like pets always get crazy right before there is a storm? Last night, they were predicting that we were getting a big snowstorm today and my kitten has been even more crazy than usual. He's been running around, meowing at everything and everyone, and playing like you wouldn't believe. Is there some scientific evidence to back this theory up?

I am not sure how true it is, but I have read many times that animals can sense a natural disaster before it actually happens. I don't know how far in advance they can see it coming, but it looks like they have that ability.

I agree JoJo. When Hurricane Matthew went through last fall, my two kitties didn't go crazy; rather they hunkered down on my bed and stayed there till it was over. They did wander around the house looking worried right before it hit. My bed is their safe place.
