Anybody else have any experience with running a Shopify online store? I had one that I had to put on hold while I finished up my school but I think, for the price, it is hard to beat the features that Shopify includes. I've run self-hosted stores before, like Woo Commerce, that seem to nickel and dime you to death with required add-ons that add basic functionality. Thoughts?

I've used Shopify before and it was really easy to use with a lot of great features. I created a store selling jewelry for 99 cents. It was really fun and easy. I stopped when I found an easier way to make more money online.

Oh? Please, do tell what this easier way to make money is. I've done lots of stuff; from domain/hosting reselling, to writing books. For my niche market items, Shopify offered a pretty good ROE. Of course all it really takes is one really good book on Amazon Kindle and you're set.

I also went through the Shopify phase where a friend of mine convinced me to start a tee shirt printing and selling business. Needless to say, I did not make much money from that, but I know it works if you have the right plan.

I will have to check out Shopify and see exactly how it works. I have wanted to start an online business for many years, but I never knew where to begin.

I've heard of Shopify before, but I've never had the opportunity to get started on it. How do you know the niche is out there for your type of product? I've always wanted to sell some of my paintings online like this, but do you think this is the place to do that?

For those of us that are novices here, please explain or give us a link to what a Shopify shop is. I've thought about doing something like this for years and just haven't taken the time. Your help would be appreciated.

I had to Google this because I never heard of it before now. What caught my eye is that they are publicly traded and their stocks are up. Now I have THEIR ticker symbol too.

One of the easiest way to see if your niche might be popular/productive, is to create a list of keywords related to your niche and then do a keyword search in Google Trends . That will give you a good idea of how much traffic those keywords related to your niche market actually generate which can help you decide on whether it is worth it. You can do similar research in Facebook as well.

I think that you could definitely sell paintings online via Shopify or a similar eCommerce site.

I am hearing of Shopify for the the first time here but I guess this is a good way to get started and learn. Pretty much everything is taking place over the internet and I see no other way of remaining relevant in this day and age.
